Fiona Nicholls

Fiona oversees the evolution and delivery of the internal Environment, Social Governance (ESG) Strategy and has specific responsibility for two priority areas - environment and assurance.

She established and continues to drive the Planet+ programme, jointly chairing the core team of Ambassadors with Partner Ben Stansfield. A passion for all things green led Fiona to set the bar high in 2017 with a public zero carbon goal. Most recently she was instrumental in the firm becoming a founder signatory to the Legal Charter 1.5, supporting novel projects working with in-house lawyers as well as other law firms.

With a process view and 20 plus years' ESG experience, Fiona guides certification to five adopted ISO standards as well as the firm's risk–focussed internal audit programme, contributing to Board level decisions and working closely with General Counsel.

With her broad view of corporate sustainability, Fiona is pushing approaches to reporting ahead of the regulatory need to do so, building UN Global Compact good practice into the day to day, evolving data assurance and encouraging client participation and influence.

Fiona brings skills and experience of working within the public, private and social enterprise sectors, as a consultant, running her won business and as an in-house practitioner.
