On March 31, 2022, NatureMetrics acquired the environmental DNA business of Canada-based Precision Biomonitoring Inc. ("PBI"). The deal will see nine leading experts in the field of DNA-based biomonitoring joining the NatureMetrics family.

NatureMetrics, based in the UK, is the world-leading provider of environmental DNA (eDNA) based biodiversity monitoring. It uses DNA technology to identify the range of species in ecosystems around the world with unprecedented speed and scale.

Gowling WLG advised PBI with respect to this transaction with a team led by Thomas Hunter and that included Irena Kramer and Michelle Kumar.
