Stuart C. Ash

Stuart Ash is a Gowling WLG partner and a leading practitioner in the field of trademarks and intellectual property transactions. A trademark lawyer and registered trademark agent based in Ottawa, he has over 20 years' experience assisting clients in registering, protecting and managing their trademarks in Canada and internationally.

He also has extensive experience in advising clients on transactions that involve the sale, transfer and licensing of intellectual property, with a particular focus on trademark license agreements.

Stuart is well-regarded by his clients for providing sound, practical advice and, since 2013, has been recognized by World Trademark Review as one of the WTR 1000: The World's Leading Trademark Lawyers. He regularly works with clients across a wide range of industries, including local tech companies, global media and entertainment companies, and companies in the consumer goods, financial services, and food and health product industries.

Stuart is a former leader of Gowling WLG's Canadian Trademarks Group, and is a regular speaker and writer on issues in intellectual property transactions.
